The duo managed to successfully do so without problem and escape on a Mandalorian Gauntlet fighter towards Zanbar, as instructed by Almec prior to the attack. When Maul was captured by Darth Sidious, Saxon, along with Rook Kast, were sent by Mandalore Prime Minister Almec to free Maul from the Spire on Stygeon Prime. Saxon then became fully devoted to his new leader. He served under Pre Vizsla until Vizsla was killed by Maul in a duel for control of Mandalore. Gar Saxon was a member of Clan Saxon and the Death Watch, a group of Mandalorians that opposed the pacifist government of Mandalore. After the rise of the Empire, Saxon served as an Emperor's Hand to Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine and was the leader of the Imperial Super Commandos until his death on Krownest in 2 BBY.
He was also present during the Siege of Mandalore, commanding Maul's forces along with Rook Kast during the invasion, where during the siege, he was responsible for executing the Mandolorian Prime Minister Almec on Maul's orders.
